The Studio

Shekhar Veer Design is a newly established, independent interior design studio in Mumbai, founded and led by Shekhar Veer. While the studio is new as a brand, it’s built on 15 years of professional interior design experience — space planning, materials, detailing, and site coordination, learned through real, on-the-ground projects. The studio was created specifically to offer custom interior design in a more direct and personal way: clients deal with Shekhar throughout the entire process, and every space is considered on its own requirements and character rather than fitted into a predefined formula — closer in spirit to a bespoke interior design studio than a large, formula-driven firm.

About the Founder

Shekhar Veer - Interior Designer in Mumbai

Shekhar has spent 15 years working across residential and commercial interior design, gaining hands-on experience in:

Space Planning — developing layouts suited to how a space will actually be used
Material & Finish Selection — choosing materials that perform well in real conditions, not just on screen
Design Detailing & Documentation — drawings and specifications clear enough to execute correctly
On-Site Coordination — working directly with contractors as a design moves from paper to a built space

After 15 years in the field, Shekhar started this studio to bring that experience directly to clients, working personally on every project rather than through the layers of a larger firm.

How Projects Are Approached

Every project begins with understanding the brief and the space — how it will be used, what’s currently working, what needs to change. From there, design and practicality are considered together: how a space feels, how people move through it, how materials and details hold up over time. For projects involving execution, Shekhar coordinates directly with the client’s contractors and vendors on design-related matters throughout.

Our Design Philosophy

There’s no single style every project needs to follow. A good interior responds to its context — the architecture, available space, natural light, requirements, materials, furniture, and the personality of the people using it all influence the final direction. The process begins with understanding, not imposing a predefined look. The goal: spaces that are thoughtful, functional, personal, and considered.
